Keeping its sentimental value, some of the toys from our childhood are actually worth a fortune. There are a lot of collectors around the world who collects rare toys that you can earn money out of them!

1. 1978 Luke Skywalker Action Figure
This probably comes as no surprise. Star Wars is still so popular! People are buying these toys for crazy amounts of money. In 2015 a 1978 Luke Skywalker action figure sold for $25,000.
2. G.I. Joe Action Figure
This is the original action figure. He came out in the 1960’s, and he has seen so many modifications since then. An original in mint condition will sell for a couple thousand dollars.
3. PEZ Dispensers
I was so in love with these as a kid! Who didn’t crave those brick-shaped candies?! Now PEZ dispensers are selling for thousands. A PEZ dispenser from 1982 recently sold for $32,000 on eBay.
4. Playmobil
These toys originally came from Germany. They were like the young version of Legos. A set in good condition is worth hundreds of dollars today.
5. Monopoly
The original monopoly board game, which was created by Charles Darrow in 1933, is worth a small fortune now. One set sold for $146,500 in 2011. Why didn’t our parents tell us to preserve our toys when we were young?!
6. Rainbow Brite
This animated series created quite a fan base. Rainbow Brite and her sidekicks the Color Kids preserved the colors of the world. Now a doll can sell for $1,000.
7. Game Boy
The original handheld video game. Way before smart phones came out, Game Boy kept us entertained for hours. Today mint condition Game Boys go for hundreds of dollars.
8. Action Comics
This is the comic that came up with Superman. There are less than 50 copies in the whole world, making each one worth a fortune. A 1938 edition sold in 2014 for $3.2 million.
9. Hot Wheels
I can’t even look at this word without hearing the commercial in my head. Hot Wheels have been the coolest cars around since 1968. The more rare editions are worth bunches.
10. Wun-Dar He-Man
In the 1990’s you could get this action figure with your Wonderbread purchase. It might have been free at the time, but now it is worth lots. You can sell one for up to $500.
11. Pound Puppies
These were all the rage among children back in the day. If you kept yours in the box, you’re in luck. You can probably get some good money for them online.
12. Push Cart Pete
These toys came from Fisher Price in 1936. They were super fun at the time, and now they will help out your bank account. A mint-condition version – which originally sold for 50 cents – is worth $3,000 today.
13. Cabbage Patch Kids
Two collectors names Pat and Joe Prosey created their own museum in Maryland where they store their enormous collection of 5,000 dolls. They are selling their entire collection for $360,000. Hope you held onto your Cabbage Patch dolls!
14. Lego Trains
Legos are still super popular, but they have been around for so long that some of their old stuff is coming back into the limelight. The Lego trains are serious collector’s items. They are selling for thousands.
15. Sega Genesis Console
There was a time when old consoles were just out-of-date. Now they are worth even more than when they first came out. The Sega Genesis console is selling for thousands of dollars if it is still in good condition.
16. American Girl “Molly” Doll
It’s not surprising that the American Girl dolls are worth so much. Molly in particular is seeing the spotlight. Discontinued dolls like Molly and Kirsten are worth way more than their already-expensive counterparts. You can sell one for up to $11,000.
17. 1982 Skeletor Action Figure
These once-popular action figures are making a come back, and it can be very good for your wallet. If you are willing to part with your action figure, you could get at least $1,500 for it. Not bad for simply holding onto a toy for a while.

The recent movie might lead you to think this is a newer story, but it has actually been around for ages. The book came out in 1963. In 2012 a signed, first edition of the book sold for $25,000.

These were the best! You could make your art so creative and colorful. An original Brite Lite from the 1960’s will sell for a few hundred dollars.
20. Lionel’s Pennsylvania “Trail Blazer” Train Set
Who didn’t love a good train set back in the day?! They were so addictive! The electric train set might be outdated, but it is worth a lot of money.
21. Happy Meal Toys
These aren’t exactly a thing of the past, but some of the older toys are super valuable now. The toys have been in circulation since 1979, and you can get hundreds of dollars for selling them. Happy Meal toys are still out now, so start collecting!

An insane rumor that Atari buried hundreds of its vintage game cartridges in the deserts of New Mexico turned out to be shockingly true. 881 cartridges were found and sold. I wonder what other rumors have a little truth behind them…

You may have thought these toys were cute, or you may have found them downright creepy. Either way, they are really valuable now. An original Furby in an unopened box is worth up to $900.
24. Eternia Play Set
This game, created by Masters of the Universe, served as a battle ground where action figures could fight their battles. If you kept yours in good condition, you will be able to sell it for a pretty penny. Holding onto old toys really can pay off!

These were so much fun. Finally, a way kids could practice cooking without parents having to worry about a burnt mess! If only they were still as popular today.
