For all the ladies (and some gents) out there who used to cover their childhood rooms with posters of their favorite hunk and dream of marrying him one day. Well, chances are that all those people are now adults, but that doesn’t mean we all can’t gather here today and have a nice look at some of those faces we used to swoon over.
In particular, we want to see which boys are daddies now — and before we get frowned upon for using that word, we actually mean it in the most innocent way. Some of our favorite childhood stars now have kids of their own, and seeing how far they’ve come makes us weirdly proud — even though we’re clearly not the mothers of their children. Well, not everything in life always goes according to plan, eh? But hey, at least we’ve got these pics to use as daydreaming inspiration — don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone.
Alright, let’s stop with the chit-chat and start with the eye-candy: Here are 20 guys that back in the day could raise our heartbeat in a second — and now the only thing they’re raising is children.
20. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE
On our list is singer Justin Timberlake. He was breaking young teenage hearts since his appearance on The Mickey Mouse Club in the early ’90s, but it wasn’t until his breakthrough with NSYNC that he got his certified heartthrob status. Justin managed to stay relevant in the industry for over two decades, and fans are still excited about new music. The singer is now 38 years old, married to Hollywood actress Jessica Biel, and has a son who was born in April 2015. He may be a daddy now, but to us, he will always be a teen icon with incredibly curly hair!
19. MARK WAHLBERG
Mark Wahlberg, who used to also be known by his former stage name Marky Mark — from back in the days when he was the frontman of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, is the next guy on our list. Yup, younger folks out there might not even know that Mark was actually a singer a long time ago. However, in the ’90s the star switched to acting and ever since he made women go crazy worldwide at sight of him. Mark, who’s now 47, is married to model Rhea Durham, with whom he has four children: two boys and two girls. Even though Mark is a family man now, we still get to see him very often in Hollywood blockbusters, reminding us that he still is — and probably always will be — a heartthrob.
18. FREDDIE PRINZE JR.
Freddie Prinze Jr. was one of the biggest teen-movie stars in the late ’90s, with lead roles in smash hits such as I Know What You Did Last Summer and She’s All That. The star is now 43 years old and definitely not as famous anymore, but that is okay because Freddie now has much more time to focus on his family. He married actress Sarah Michelle Gellar whom he met while filming I Know What You Did Last Summer and the couple has two children together: a daughter born in September 2009 and a son born in September 2012.
17. RICKY MARTIN
It’s time for another heartthrob singer whose sight made our ovaries tingle. Ricky Martin made everyone’s hips move back in the ’90s, and while plenty of women hoped to actually snatch this heartthrob, after plenty of speculation about his orientation, in 2010 the singer publicly admitted that he prefers the company of men. In 2008, Ricky Martin became the father of twin boys Matteo and Valentino, born by a surrogate, and in 2018 — after marrying his boyfriend Jwan Yosef — the couple announced the birth of their daughter Lucía Martin-Yosef via social media. To us, Ricky will forever be the king of Latin pop and a heartthrob that still makes us swoon.
16. RYAN PHILLIPPE
Around the same time when Freddie Prinze Jr. was big, there was another actor who made our hearts skip a beat: Ryan Phillippe. The two were not really big competition for each other as one was tall, dark and handsome, while the other was blonde, blue-eyed and pretty much looked like an angel that fell from heaven. Ryan became famous with roles in blockbusters like I Know What You Did Last Summer and those not-so-nice Intentions. The now 44-year-old actor has two children with fellow Intentions actress Reese Witherspoon: daughter Ava and son Deacon, and a son named Kai with actress Alexis Knapp.
15. JOHN STAMOS
John Stamos was definitely an ’80s and ’90s heartthrob, and honestly, we think he only got even better with age. Who could forget him as Blackie Parrish in General Hospital or uncle Jesse in Full House? The now 55-year-old who had his firstborn last year — yup, it’s clearly never too late — spends most of his time with his family: his wife, actress Caitlin McHugh and his adorable one-year-old son Billy. John, who is super proud of his son, often brings his little bundle of joy to events and talk shows, and judging from the picture above, we’re sure Billy will take after his dad and grow up to become a smart stud as well.
14. JOSH HARTNETT
Our title star Josh Hartnett. Can you believe the actor is already 40 years old? Anyone who was a teen in the late ’90s and early 2000s definitely remembers this hunk from movies like Pearl Harbor and 40 Days and 40 Nights. According to People Magazine, the actor welcomed his first child with longtime girlfriend actress Tamsin Egerton, back in 2015, and a second child joined their family in 2017. While the names of his kids are still not public, and Josh tends to keep his private life very private — we are still giggling over the fact that the actor is a father and not a teen idol anymore.
13. HUGH GRANT
Speaking of heartthrobs that were popular in the ’80s and ’90s, this list would not be accurate without Hugh Grant. The actor from England stole our hearts in movies like Four Weddings And A Funeral, Notting Hill, and Bridget Jones’s Diary. Fast forward to today, when the actor is still successful but has noticeably slowed down with the number of roles he accepts. Instead, he spends much more of his time being a father to his five children. We can’t wait to see what his kids grow up to become, but meanwhile, we’ll go and rewatch all those chick flicks he’s in.
12. NICK CARTER
Alright, when we think of other important heartthrobs of the past few decades, we can’t avoid mentioning Nick Carter. In fact, all members of Backstreet Boys had their fans, but at the time it seemed as if Nick was the usual one girls everywhere would crush on. Our theory is that it was that blonde hair with the middle part that made us all swoon — no matter how ridiculous that may seem now. Either way, Nick is 39 today and has a son — little Odin who was born in 2016. He still occasionally sings and makes appearances, but from what we can tell, it seems as if this daddy slowed down as well.
11. USHER
Let’s move on to another singer, a star who quickly rose to fame in the late ’90s and made girls swoon all over the globe. Usher started becoming popular already as a teen, but it wasn’t until his hits like “U Got It Bad” and “Yeah!” that he reached worldwide star status. The now 40-year-old has two children: eleven-year-old Usher Raymond V and ten-year-old Naviyd. As you can tell, the boys love going with their dad to different events, and in the image above you can see them proudly accompanying daddy while he gets a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
10. MARK-PAUL GOSSELAAR
Alright, now let’s talk about two studs from Saved By The Bell. The comedy series was a huge hit in the early 90s, and two actors, in particular, stole our hearts. First, let’s start with Mark-Paul Gosselaar who played Zack Morris on Good Morning, Miss Bliss, Saved By The Bell, and Saved By The Bell: The College Years. Now Mark-Paul is 45 and has four kids to raise. And while fatherhood is not easy, Mark-Paul still found the time to star as the lead in the 2019 thriller series The Passage. Personally, we can’t wait for a Saved By The Bell remake, and hopefully, Mark-Paul would make an appearance.
9. MARIO LOPEZ
Now let’s move on to the other Saved By The Bell heartthrob: Mario Lopez. He portrayed A.C. Slater on both, Saved By The Bell and Saved By The Bell: The College Years. Besides acting, Mario went on to make a name for himself as a host as well, and he definitely still is a familiar TV face. The 45-year-old has two children with his wife, actress Courtney Laine Mazza: an eight-year-old daughter named Gia Francesca and a five-year-old son named Dominic. The four definitely make a picture-perfect family, and we can’t wait to see the kids grow up and make their parents proud!
8. CHRIS KLEIN
Chris Klein caught our attention back in the early 2000s when he was playing Chris ‘Oz’ Ostreicher in the Am. Pie film series, and honestly, it’s of no surprise — who could resist that beautiful face. Chris is now 40, living in Austin, Texas where he is raising two children with his wife Laina Thyfault: a daughter born in 2016, and a son born last year. While he is definitely not the Oz we know and love anymore, we can, without a doubt say that Chris has aged very nicely, and we wouldn’t mind seeing his pretty face a bit more often.
7. CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY
We can’t remember the early 2000s without remembering Chad Michael Murray’s roles alongside Hilary Duff in A Cinderella Story and Lindsay Lohan in Freaky Friday. At the time, Chad was acting as the lead male alongside some of the greatest female teen icons, and girls all over the globe started dreaming of what it would be like to one day be Mrs. Murray. Today Chad is married to actress Sarah Roemer whom he has two adorable kids with. As you can tell from the photo above, a daddy’s life isn’t always easy, but Chad seems to be managing just fine.
6. JARED PADALECKI
Speaking of Chad, his co-star in House Of Wax, Jared Padalecki also made it onto our list. Jared is best known for playing the role of Sam Winchester in the TV series Supernatural, but true fans will also remember him as Dean in Gilmore Girls. He married fellow actress Genevieve Cortese in 2010, and the two has three adorable kids: seven-year-old Thomas, five-year-old Austin, and two-year-old Odette. As you can tell from the image above, Jared is totally in love with his children, and we personally think they may be one of the cutest families on our list so far!
5. ORLANDO BLOOM
Don’t worry, we still have a few more heartthrob daddies to look at. Let’s continue with Orlando Bloom, who had his breakthrough as Legolas in The Lord Of The Rings film series. Of course, after that Orlando got plenty of very successful roles, but one of his more recognizable ones was as Will Turner in another great film series — Pirates Of The Caribbean. Today, Orlando is 42 years old and divorced from his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr, with whom he has an eight-year-old son named Flynn Christopher. He is currently engaged to singer Kary Perry, and honestly, we think those two would have cute babies as well — just sayin’.
4. ASHTON KUTCHER
Doing a list like this without this Punk’d and That ’70s Show legend would definitely not feel right. While Ashton surely wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, he definitely was a good-looking heartthrob back in the days — one who eventually evolved to become a good-looking dad. Ashton is now 41 and married to fellow Hollywood star Mila Kunis, whom he has four-year-old daughter Wyatt Isabelle and two-year-old son Dimitri with. Ever since his years on Punk’d most of us couldn’t really imagine this wild heart to ever settle down, but hey, it’s 2019 and he is a happily married man and lucky father. The world is so unpredictable.
3. CHANNING TATUM
From one good-looking actor straight to the next one: Channing Tatum made most girls (and some boys) not only swoon but also want to learn some very cool moves — whether it’s with movies like Step Up or Magic Mike (although one is way more PG-13 than the other). Today, Channing is the father of the lovely five-year-old Everly, whom the actor had with Step Up co-star Jenna Dewan. The two were married for almost ten years, but as with everything in Hollywood — their love didn’t last forever. All differences aside, the two seem to be doing a great job at raising their daughter, and little Everly looks very happy with her daddy in the photo above.
2. BARRY WATSON
We almost got to the end of our list, but before we wrap things up we had to also mention Barry Watson. All of you who were obsessed with 7th Heaven probably remember how good-looking Barry was in that show. He played Matt Camden, aka the family’s oldest son, and oh boy — how we all wished our older brothers were anything like him. Today the 45-year-old actor spends most of his time raising his three children: his two sons Oliver and Felix with ex-wife, tv personality Tracy Hutson, and his daughter Clover Clementyne with his current wife, actress Natasha Gregson Wagner.
1. TOM WELLING
Alright, last but certainly not least on our list of daddies we used to swoon over is actor Tom Welling. This hunk is best known for his role as Clark Kent in the superhero drama Smallville which was actually on for 10 years — how crazy is that? Today Tom is a 41-year-old dad to his little Thomson Wylde who was born beginning of January this year. Yup, Tom barely made it onto our list of daddies! So there you have it — those were some of the guys we used to have posters of in our rooms back in the days, and seeing how all of them are such proud parents today makes us love them even more!
