If you’re unfamiliar, Spanish cuisine is very well-versed in cooking elaborate rice dishes. Although meals like paella are relatively complex to make, you can do a simplified version of those flavors by making this Spanish rice bake! If you’ve never tried this before, now is the perfect time to start. The recipe we’re using is adapted from All Recipes and is sure to be a hit with the whole family. Here’s how you make it:
Ingredients:
1 pound of ground beef
1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
1/4 cup of chopped bell pepper
1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1 can of tomatoes
1 cup of water
3/4 cup of uncooked rice
1/2 cup of chili sauce
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
black pepper
Steps:
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
2. Next, brown your ground beef in a big skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Drain the extra fat and move the beef to a big pot over medium low heat.
4. Stir in your onion, bell pepper, tomatoes, water, rice, chile sauce, salt, brown sugar, cumin, Worcestershire sauce and a pinch of black pepper.
5. Let the whole thing simmer for 30 minutes, stirring periodically.
6. When that’s done, transfer the whole thing into a casserole dish.
7. Press it all down and sprinkle the top with shredded cheddar cheese.
8. When it’s all done, bake it at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese melts.
9. When it’s done, add chopped cilantro on top and serve.
20. Beef Bourguignon
Last but not least, our final recipe is for beef bourguignon. Although the original French recipe is more complicated and takes a longer time to cook, we’re bringing you a simplified version that you can make as a casserole. If you’ve been looking for a rich and flavorful dish that’s still easy to make, give this dish a try. This recipe comes adapted from All Recipes and it tastes incredible. Here’s how you make it:
Ingredients:
1/4 cup of flour
1 chopped onion
2 chopped carrots
1 clove of minced garlic
2 cups of red wine
1 bay leaf
3 tablespoons of chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon of thyme
1 can of sliced mushrooms
1 can of canned onions
4 tablespoons of butter
2 pounds of cubed stew meat
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
Steps:
1. In a small bowl, mix your flour, salt and black pepper.
2. Drag your beef cubes through the mix as well.
3. Next, melt your butter in a skillet over medium high before adding your meat and browning it all over.
4. Pour the meat into a casserole dish.
5. After that, put your skillet back on the heat and add your onion, carrots and garlic. Saute everything for five to 10 minutes or until the onion gets soft.
6. After that, add your wine, bay leaf, parsley, thyme and mushroom liquid as well.
7. Pour that over your meat and bake the dish at 350 degrees for two and a half hours.
8. At the end of everything, take the cover off, add your canned onions and mushrooms on top and bake it all for 30 minutes.
9. When it’s done, let it cool for a minute and enjoy!
